Francesco Gonzales was born on September 24th 1972 in L'Aquila, Italy.

He completed his studies in Novara at the Casorati School of Art and in Milan at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Stage Design with a thesis on the concept of space in Gaudenzio Ferrari's works. Already while in Art School he began to paint and took part in several joint exhibitions.
Following his graduation from the Brera Academy he was called by the Arena of Verona to be a scene painter during the 1995 season.

Subsequently he collaborated with the scenery designer Edoardo Sanchi for Monteverdi's "Orpheus" at the Royal Theatre of Turin. In 1997 he began to collaborate with the Superintendent for the Artistic and Historical Heritage of Piedmont, in Turin, with responsibility for the Photographic Archives.

He then undertook an inventory of the Albertina Academy Art Gallery and of the furnishings and collections of the "Carlo Alberto" Royal College in Moncalieri. At the same time he began to collaborate with the Office of the Cultural Heritage and Sacred Music of the Diocese of Novara, with responsibility for the protection and restoration of the Diocese's artistic property and acting as the interface between the Diocese and the Superintendent for the Artistic and Historical Heritage of Piedmont.

The most significant recognition received as an artist has been the invitation to participate in the Biennial Exibition of Young Artists Big Torino 2000 and the commission to paint the official portrait of His Excellency Monsignor Renato Corti, Bishop of Novara.
